Endurance exercise

One of the fundamental purposes of training for endurance sports is to give the body a tough workout followed by just the right amount of rest. It provides a powerful base fitness.

The athletes who possess some degree of muscle endurance have the muscle ability to repeatedly develop or maintain force without fatiguing.

Theoretically, the person will get stronger and more fit. Endurance training not only improves the body’s ability to deliver oxygen to the active muscles but it also enhances the capacity of the muscles to use oxygen within their mitochondria.

During endurance training, muscle glycogen in the main source of fuel for the first 90-120 min, together with blood glucose and fat from stores.

Adaptation on the storage, transport, mobilization and endogenous production of energy molecules occurs as a result of endurance training.

Endurance training also results in a precise redistribution of blood flow within active muscle.

Obviously, endurance is important to almost all athletes, even those involved in sports requiring short, intermittent bursts of intense anaerobic activity that are repeated over the course of an hour or more.
